Today my day started being upset. I got my newspaper early in the morning and couple of news caught my attention. They made me upset; yet one of them was a good news. On the very front page I read that Sensex was making recovery and possibilities of its growth were predicted. This was very good news for the investors and for those whose financial life lines are determined by the fluctuations in the stock market.
The second news was really a painful. It was about, one more suicide by a farmer from Vidardba region of Maharashtra due to already increased debts and recent losses made by untimely heavy rains in the region.
Normally we get used to particular incidents happening repeatedly and our sensitivities and reactions to such regularly happening incidents become normal. We all have got used to news of farmers committing suicides in regular intervals. We know, it is happening very unfortunate and we will not be shocked if this continues to happen in the future. For a while and so we feel upset and then we leave it behind.
However, today’s news of a farmer’s suicide was very saddening and was very painful. The farmer was a well-known poet in the region. He was already under heavy debts and his sensitive poetic mind could not bear the pains of losses caused by untimely heavy rains. He left a suicidal note. He expressed his depression in the lines of a poem. He expressed that nothing could have been happened so depressing than untimely rain caused unbearable loss to his growing crops. He found no ways to bear this loss and finished his life.
